Struff Seeks End To Losing Streak

Jan-Lennard Struff has struggled for form and confidence since last year, managing just one win between Doha and the French Open, including 10 opening-round exits during that stretch.

The same pattern has continued in 2026. He has played nine tournaments, with only one opening-round win in Rotterdam, while his other eight events ended in either the first round or qualifying, leaving him on a six-match losing streak.

Despite his struggles, Struff has a strong record at this event, reaching at least the quarterfinal in five of his 10 main-draw appearances, including winning the title here in 2024.

Cerundolo Continues Solid Season Form

Francisco Cerundolo is coming off a mixed week in Monte Carlo, where he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the opening round but lost to Tomas Machac in straight sets.

He has had a solid start to the season, winning the title in Buenos Aires, reaching the fourth round at the Australian Open, along with a quarterfinal in Miami and a semifinal in Santiago, keeping him inside the top 20.

Cerundolo made his Munich main-draw debut last year and impressed by reaching the semifinals before losing to Ben Shelton from a set up. He will now look to defend those points this week.

Verdict

With the gap in current form, Cerundolo should be able to control this matchup. Cerundolo to win in straight sets and Cerundolo -3.5 games handicap both align with that expectation.
