Landaluce Delivers Huge Upset

Martin Landaluce pulled off another huge upset by defeating Sebastian Korda 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals. He saved a match point in the second set before completing the comeback.

Before this week, he had not won multiple main-draw matches at any level since October. Now, he has won six matches in Miami as a qualifier.

He had never recorded consecutive wins at tour level, beaten a top-50 player, or defeated back-to-back top-100 opponents before this run, but he has achieved all of that this week.

With this breakthrough performance, Landaluce is set to reach a new career-high ranking and is closing in on a top-100 debut.

Lehecka Builds Miami Momentum

Jiri Lehecka defeated world No. 7 Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals in Miami. He saved all five break points and converted three of his ten chances.

This is his third quarterfinal of the season, having previously fallen at this stage in Doha and Dubai.

The result comes as a boost after a difficult start to the year, where he failed to defend his Brisbane title and Australian Open points, dropping out of the top 20.

Lehecka has played two Masters quarterfinals before, both in 2024. He lost to Jannik Sinner in Indian Wells but defeated Daniil Medvedev in Madrid to reach the semifinal.
