Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns Preview & Picks

Phoenix are tipped to cover as they finally clinch the series.

Home teams have dominated this series so far with each team winning all three on their own court.

The Suns are excellent at home, so that trend is backed to continue as Phoenix advance.

  • Phoenix Suns are 9-2 in their last 11 home games
  • Phoenix Suns are 5-1-0 ATS in their last 6 home games
  • Phoenix Suns are 3-0-0 ATS at home in this series
  • Phoenix Suns are 10-3-0 ATS in their last 13 home games vs Dallas

Head To Head

  • Dallas Mavericks won 113-86 in Game 6
  • This NBA Playoffs series is tied at 3-3
  • Phoenix Suns leads the all-time series 103-83

Dallas Mavericks Form

Dallas saved the series with another home win on Thursday night, setting up this huge Game 7 clash.

The Mavericks dropped the first two games of this Western Conference semi-final, losing 121-114 and 129-109 in Phoenix.

They rebounded at home to level it up though, putting together 103-94 and 111-101 victories.

Dallas failed to keep that momentum going when they went back on the road though, losing 110-80 to go 0-3 on their travels in this series.

That also left them trailing the Suns 3-2, meaning they had to win Game 6.

The Mavericks did just that though, responding their blowout loss in Game 5 with a one-sided win over their own, downing Phoenix 113-86.

Luke Doncic led the way once again with 33 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and four steals.

Reggie Bullock had 19 points and seven rebounds, while Jalen Brunson contributed 18 points.

Spencer Dinwiddie stepped off the bench to register 15 points and dish out three assists.

Phoenix Suns Form

Phoenix passed up on the chance to wrap up the series on the road, but they get another chance at home on Sunday.

The Suns took the first two games of this Western Conference semi-final, beating Dallas 121-114 and 129-109 at home.

They failed to build on that in Dallas though, following up a 103-94 defeat with a 111-101 loss that levelled the series.

A return home brought improved fortunes as they regained the series lead with a 110-80 blowout of the Mavericks.

However, they again tasted defeat in Dallas in Game 6, suffering a 113-86 loss, and that means everything now rides on this Game 7 clash.

Devin Booker will be hoping for a better night shooting the basketball after finishing the Game 6 defeat with just 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Deandre Ayton led the Suns in scoring on the night, combining 21 points with 11 rebounds in a double double.

Chris Paul had another quiet game, putting up 13 points, four assists and two rebounds as Phoenix were blown out.

Verdict

These two teams have been making home advantage count throughout this entire series.

That trend is likely to continue here, with Phoenix backed to cover as they finally get past the Mavs.

Spread – Phoenix -6.0 @ -110
