Claressa Shields Form
Claressa Shields boasts a perfect 12-0 (2 KOs) record and has won world titles in three different weight classes.
The 27-year-old American won her first world titles in only her fourth fight, stopping Nikki Adler in the fifth round to win the WBC and IBF super-middleweight titles.
She then became WBA and IBF middleweight champion in her sixth outing by earning a decision win over Hanna Gabriels.
Shields added the WBC belt to her collection by besting Hannah Rankin on the scorecards in her next outing, and then retained all three titles with a decision win over Femke Hermans.
The former Olympian then claimed the WBO and Ring magazine titles with a decision success against Christina Hammer.
In her next two outings she became the undisputed light-middleweight champion of the world with a couple of decision wins, before returning to middleweight in February.
Shields by Ema Kozin by unanimous decision to retain the WBA, WBC, IBG and Ring magazine titles, as well as win the WBF title.
She now needs one more belt to become undisputed middleweight champion – the title that long-time rival Marshall holds.
Savannah Marshall Form
Savannah Marshall also boasts a perfect 12-0 record since entering the professional ranks in 2017.
Her rise to world title glory took a little longer than Shields, as she fought eight times before challenging for a world title.
The 31-year-old English fighter won six of those fights via stoppage, with a third-round TKO win against Ashleigh Curry earning her a world title fight.
Marshall took on Hannah Rankin the vacant WBO belt and won via a seventh-round stoppage.
In her first defence she took just here rounds to dispatch Maria Lindberg, and in her second she needed less than two full rounds to take out Lolita Muzeya.
That set up a third world title defence against Femke Hermans, who had previously lost on points to Marshall’s opponent on Saturday, Claressa Shields.
Marshall took her out in emphatic fashion, ending the contest with a third-round knockout.
That secured this fight with Shields for all of the middleweight marbles – but can she repeat her win over the American when the two women were amateurs?
