Haney became a world champion for the first time in 2019 when he fought twice in two months.
He first stopped Zaur Abdullaev in four rounds to win the vacant WBC interim title, and was quickly elevated to full champion.

The pair went the distance in Melbourne, Australia and it was Haney who had his hand raised after 12 rounds.
That victory means Haney now holds the WBC, WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine titles.
George Kambosos Jr Form
George Kambosos Jr is looking to bounce back from the first defeat of his professional career.
The 29-year-old Australian compiled a perfect 19-0 record between May 2013 and October 2020 to catapult himself into title contention.
His split decision win over Lee Selby in London earned him a shot at the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine titles in November 2021.
Kambosos Jr took his big chance, causing a gigantic upset as he dethroned Teofimo Lopez by split decision.
He was unable to make a successful defence of those crowns though.
Despite fighting on his home soil, Kambosos Jr lost the unification bout with Devin Haney by unanimous decision in June of this year.
That defeat saw Kambosos Jr fall to 20-1 in the professional ranks, with 10 wins coming by stoppage.
