He then beat former world title contender Bryant Jennings by unanimous decision in July 2019 – the only time he has gone the distance in his career.
Joyce got back to finishing his opponents when he knocked out Michael Wallisch in the third round in 2020.
He then followed that up by stopping domestic rival Daniel Dubois in the 10th round and former world title challenger Carlos Takam in the sixth.
In his only outing so far this year, Joyce stopped Christian Hammer in round four to improve to 14-0 with 13 KO/TKO wins.

Joseph Parker is riding a six-fight win streak as he looks to secure a world title fight.
Parker became WBO champion in December 2016 when he earned a majority decision win against Andy Ruiz Jr.
He made a couple of successful defences before losing the title to Anthony Joshua via unanimous decision in March 2018.
The former world champion lost his next fight too, dropping a decision to Dillian Whyte in a fight in which he was floored twice.
Parker has not lost since though, embarking on a win streak that started with a third-round knockout of Alexander Flores.
He then stopped Alex Leapai in the 10th round before finishing Shawndell Winters in the fifth round.
The 30-year-old New Zealander’s run then continued with a unanimous decision win against Junior Fa, before he beat Derek Chisora by decision twice in 2021.
Those victories took Parker’s record to 30-2, with 21 wins coming by KO/TKO and his two defeats coming by decision.
