Shakur Stevenson Form
Shakur Stevenson is a former two-weight world champion with a professional record of 20-0 (10 KOs).
Stevenson became a world champion for the first time in his career when he beat Joel Gonzalez on points in October 2019 to claim the vacant WBO featherweight title.
He then moved up to super-featherweight and beat Felix Caraballo by sixth-round knockout and Toka Khan Clary by unanimous decision to earn an interim world title fight.
The 26-year-old American beat Jeremiah Nakathila to win the belt, and then became full champion in October 2021 when he stopped Jamel Herring in the 10th round.
Stevenson added the WBC and Ring Magazine titles in his next fight, beating Oscar Valdez via unanimous decision.
However, he failed to make weight for his next outing and gave up the titles after claiming a points win over Robson Conceicao.
‘Sugar’ subsequently moved up to lightweight and made a winning debut in his new weight class in April, stopping Shuichiro Yoshino in the sixth round.
Edwin De Los Santos Form
Edwin De Los Santos is riding a three-fight win streak and has a professional record of 16-1 (14 KOs).
De Los Santos won several minor titles as he won the first 13 fights of his career, but his streak came to an end in January 2022.
The 24-year-old Dominican dropped a split decision when he took on William Foster III.
He has rebounded from that defeat though, reeling off three consecutive wins to land this world title fight with Shakur Stevenson.
De Los Santos bounced back from his first career loss by knocking out Luis Acosta in the second round in March 2022.
He then stopped Jose Valenzuela in the third round in September 2022, before earning a unanimous decision win over Joseph Adorno in July of this year.
Verdict
Edwin De Los Santos has power in his hands, but he is out of his depth here.
Shakur Stevenson is a skilled fighter with plenty of world title fight experience, so we expect him to outclass De Los Santos over 12 rounds.
