BC are tipped to cover as they make it back-to-back wins.

The Lions have the advantage of having played last week, while Winnipeg have lost key defensive talent and are without starting QB Zach Collaros for their season opener.

BC Lions Form

BC head out on the road for the first time looking to build on last week’s season-opening victory.

The Lions opened the 2025 regular season at home to Edmonton, and were able to kick off the campaign with a 31-14 victory over the Elks.

It was an ideal start for a team looking to better last season’s showing, which saw them make the playoffs only to fall at the first hurdle.

BC finished the 2024 regular season with a 9-9 record, but that was enough to see them into the postseason.

The Lions’ playoff stay proved to be a short one though, as they went out on the road to lose 28-19 in Saskatchewan in the West Semi-Final.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form

Winnipeg go into their season opener looking to make another run at Grey Cup glory in 2025.

The Blue Bombers have become fixtures in Canadian football’s biggest competition over the past several years, but last year’s visit ended in disappointment.

They compiled an 11-7 record to make the playoffs and downed Saskatchewan 38-22 in the West Final to set up a showdown with Toronto.

However, Winnipeg’s quest for glory ultimately ended in failure as they were beaten 41-24 by the Argonauts in the championship game.

The Blue Bombers will want to ‘right that wrong’ in 2025, and they warmed up for the new season with a couple of victories over Saskatchewan, winning 15-0 at home and 27-20 on the road.

Verdict

BC’s recent record against Winnipeg is rough, but we like their chances of catching the Blue Bombers cold.

Having a competitive game in the books already is a big advantage, and this Winnipeg team is without its starting QB and has lost a bunch of defensive talent in the offseason.
