Edmonton return from their second bye week in desperate need of a victory after losing four of their first five games.
The Elks kicked off the campaign with a 31-14 defeat at the BC Lions, sending them into their first weekend off with a 0-1 record.
They then returned to action with a 38-28 home loss to Montreal, before falling to 0-3 with a 36-23 defeat in Winnipeg.
Edmonton finally got off the mark at the start of July as they beat Ottawa 39-33 at home, but their joy was short-lived.
The Elks returned to losing ways a week later, falling 32-14 to the BC Lions to go into the bye week at 1-4.
Saskatchewan Roughriders Form
Saskatchewan return home having rebounded from their first loss of the season to improve to 5-1.
The Roughriders opened the season at home and took advantage with a 31-26 victory at the expense of Ottawa.
They then backed that up on the road as they won 28-23 in Hamilton, before heading to Toronto to down the defending champion Argonauts, 39-32.
Saskatchewan then took their perfect start to four games with a 37-18 success against BC, only to see it finally end with a 24-10 loss to Calgary.
The Roughriders issued an immediate response however, as they got back on track with a 33-27 victory over the Lions last weekend.

We have two teams headed in very different directions at this time.
Saskatchewan have all of the momentum on their side and we expect them to make straightforward work of the Elks.
