Saskatchewan Roughriders Form
Saskatchewan head to Winnipeg on a miserable run of form, having gone six games without a victory.
The Roughriders started the season hot, winning each of their first four games on their way to a 5-1 start.
The last of those wins came on July 19 when they beat Winnipeg 19-9 at home, but since that night they have not managed a single victory.
Saskatchewan lost 20-16 in Montreal and 42-31 at home to Edmonton, before playing out a 22-22 tie when they visited Ottawa.
The Roughriders then suffered three consecutive defeats, losing 27-24 at home to Montreal, 20-19 in Toronto and, 35-33 when they hosted Winnipeg last weekend.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg have found their form over the past several weeks, kick-starting their playoff quest with four straight wins to improve to 6-6.
The Blue Bombers have been a fixture in the Grey Cup in recent years, but a return to the CFL’s big game in 2024 started to look unlikely as they lost their first four games.
They steadied the ship with a 25-16 win over Ottawa and then backed that up with a 41-37 success against Calgary, only to then go cold again and lost their next two games.
Winnipeg were beaten 19-9 in Saskatchewan, before heading to Toronto where they lost 16-14 to the Argonauts in overtime.
The Blue Bombers have rallied in recent weeks though, beating the BC Lions 25-0 at home and 20-11 on the road, before downing Hamilton 26-23 and Saskatchewan 35-33.
Verdict
Several weeks ago we would have been siding with Saskatchewan, but times have changed.
Winnipeg are now the team in better form and they just beat the Roughriders on the road, so we like the Blue Bombers at home in this one.
