Toronto are tipped to cover as a slight underdog in Edmonton.

The Argonauts continue to stack up losses, but the offense has been putting up plenty of points and the Elks do not have the same level of firepower.

Toronto enter this matchup in desperate need of a win, having now lost seven of their nine games this season.

The Argonauts began their title defence with a 28-10 loss to Montreal, before falling 29-19 to Calgary and 39-32 to Saskatchewan.

They finally got off the mark with a 29-16 win in Ottawa, only to go into their first bye week on the back of a 51-38 defeat to Hamilton.

Toronto returned to action with a 26-25 loss in Montreal, before finally notching their second victory as they beat Winnipeg 31-17.

The Argonauts’ joy was short-lived though, as they then fell 40-31 in Winnipeg and 46-42 at home to Ottawa.

Edmonton Elks Form

Edmonton return home looking to string together victories for the first time in the 2025 regular season.

The Elks kicked off the campaign with a 31-14 defeat at the BC Lions, and then returned from an early bye with a 38-28 loss to Montreal and a 36-23 loss to Winnipeg.

The finally registered their first win in Week 5 as they beat Ottawa 39-33, only to then return to losing ways as they fell 32-14 to the BC Lions before the bye.

Edmonton returned to action with a 21-18 defeat in Saskatchewan, which was followed by a 28-24 loss to Hamilton, but they did stop the rot last weekend.

The Elks registered their first victory for over a month as they ran out 23-22 winners in Montreal.

Verdict

Toronto have had a miserable season so far, but at least they are putting up plenty of points.

The same cannot be said for this Edmonton group, so we are leaning towards the Argonauts and the free points.
