Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Montreal Alouettes Preview & Picks
Winnipeg are tipped to cover as a favorite on the road.
The Blue Bombers are the team in better form thanks to a couple of recent wins, and this Montreal group have had serious issues covering the number.
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 2-1 in their last 3 games
- Montreal Alouettes are 1-6-0 ATS in their last 7 games
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 4-1 in their last 5 visits to Montreal
- The Over has cashed in 7 of Winnipeg’s 9 games this season
Head To Head
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers lead the series 5-3 since August 2022
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers won 28-27 when the two teams last met in October 2024
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg head back out on the road having climbed back above .500 with last week’s win over Ottawa.
The Blue Bombers raced out of the blocks by winning their first three games of the season, downing the BC Lions 34-20 at home and 27-14 on the road, before beating Edmonton 46-23.
That perfect run was ended by a 37-16 defeat in Calgary prior to their second bye week, and they were unable to bounce back quickly.
Winnipeg lost 41-20 at home to Calgary and 31-17 on the road in Toronto, before finally snapping their skid with a 40-31 victory over the Argonauts.
The Blue Bombers failed to back that up as they lost 28-27 in Calgary, but they did issue an immediate response in the form of a 30-27 win over Ottawa.
Montreal Alouettes Form
Montreal enter this matchup on a miserable run of form, having now lost five of their last seven games and each of the last three.
The Alouettes made a strong start to the season as they followed up a 28-10 home win over Toronto with road wins at Ottawa, 39-18, and Edmonton, 38-28.
They cooled off before the bye week though, as they were beaten 35-17 in Hamilton and 21-20 at home to the BC Lions.
The break did Montreal good though, as they returned to action with a 26-25 win over Toronto and a 23-21 success in Calgary.
However, the Alouettes were unable to maintain that momentum and have now lost three straight; 34-6 to Saskatchewan, 23-22 to Edmonton and 36-18 at BC.
Verdict
Winnipeg failed to keep their host start going, but they have won two the last three.
Montreal, on the other hand, have been stacking up losses late June so we are siding with the Blue Bombers on Thursday night.
