Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Toronto Argonauts Preview & Picks
Winnipeg are tipped to return to winning ways in this 2024 Grey Cup rematch.
Both teams are in poor form heading into this matchup, but the Blue Bombers have offered more reasons for optimism through seven weeks.
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 3-0-0 ATS in their 3 wins
- Toronto Argonauts are 1-5 through their first 6 games
- Toronto Argonauts are 2-4-0 ATS so far this season
- The Over has cashed in 4 of Winnipeg’s 5 games so far
Head To Head
- Toronto Argonauts lead the series 4-2 since July 2022
- Toronto Argonauts won 41-24 when the two teams last met in November 2024
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg head to Toronto looking to snap a two-game losing skid that has dropped them to 3-2.
The Blue Bombers have been Grey Cup fixtures in recent seasons, and their quest to reach yet another CFL championship game got off to a great start.
Having sat out Week 1 due to a bye week, they made up for lost time with back-to-back wins over BC, beating the Lions 34-20 at home and 27-14 on the road,
Winnipeg then made it to 3-0 with a 37-23 victory at home to Edmonton, but they have not won since that June 26 matchup.
The Blue Bombers went into their second bye on the back of a 37-16 loss at Calgary, before returning to action with a 41-20 home defeat to the Stampeders.
Toronto Argonauts Form
Toronto enter this matchup in desperate need of victory, having lost five of their first six games in the defence of their Grey Cup crown.
The Argonauts went all the way last season, but after seven weeks they are already in danger of missing out on the playoffs in 2025.
The Argonauts lost 28-10 in Montreal in their season opener, and then fell to 0-3 as they dropped back-to-back home games, 29-19 to Calgary and 39-32 to Saskatchewan.
Toronto finally got off the mark with a 29-16 win in Ottawa on June 29, but they have been unable to build on that.
Either side of the bye week, the Argonauts have lost 51-38 at Hamilton and 26-25 on the road in Montreal.
Verdict
Toronto’s defence of the Grey Cup crown has not gone to plan so far, with the losses piling up.
So while Winnipeg have dropped the last two, we like the Blue Bombers’ chances of rebounding here.
