The PGA Tour and players remain in Hawaii for the second consecutive weekend, with the Sony Open up for grabs at the Waialae Country Club. Which golfer will take the honours in Honolulu?

Si Woo Kim returns to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Hayden Buckley in 2023.

Past and present major winners who tee off on Thursday include Brian Harman, Matt Fitzpatrick, Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover, Stewart Cink, Hideki Matsuyama, Webb Simpson, Justin Rose, and Gary Woodland.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Matt Fitzpatrick

Matt Fitzpatrick has been back to his best on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour for the past four months, placing T2 at the BMW Championship, T9 at the Tour Championship, T3 at the Omega European Masters, T18 at the BMW Championship, victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T27 at the DP World Tour Championship and T14 at the Sentry last weekend.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Fitzpatrick last year include finishing T29 at the WM Phoenix Open, T14 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T10 at the Masters, victory at the RBC Heritage, T19 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T9 at the Memorial Tournament, T20 at the RBC Canadian Open and T17 at the US Open.

The world's eighth-ranked golfer makes his debut at the Sony Open in Hawaii this weekend.

Fitzpatrick has been playing well and looks ready to claim another PGA Tour tournament.

Brian Harman

Brian Harman has been in great touch on the PGA Tour since the end of June last year, placing T2 at the Travelers Championship, T9 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, T12 at the Genesis Scottish Open, victory at the Open Championship, T31 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T5 at the BMW Championship and 23rd at the Tour Championship.

He was then T44 at the RSM Classic, T8 at the Hero World Challenge and T5 at the Sentry last weekend.

Additional highlights achieved by Harman last season include finishing T17 at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, T7 at the RBC Heritage and T29 at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

The world's ninth-ranked player has compiled a solid record at the Sony Open, finishing T59 in 2012, MC in 2013, T32 in 2014, T13 in 2015, T13 in 2015, T20 in 2017, T4 in 2018, MC in 2019, T32 in 2020, T56 in 2021, T48 in 2022 and T32 in 2023.

Harman enjoyed a very successful 2023, including winning his first Major and has the form to lift the trophy in Hawaii come Sunday.

Eric Cole

Eric Cole has produced impressive results on the PGA Tour lately, placing T25 at the BMW Championship, 4th at the Fortinet Championship, T35 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, T3 at the Shriners Children's Open, T2 at the ZOZO Championship in Japan, T3 at the RSM Classic and T14 at the Sentry last weekend.

Cole's other notable achievements last season include finishing T15 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, 2nd at the Honda Classic, T5 at the Mexico Open, T23 at the AT&T Byron Nelson, T15 at the PGA Championship, T24 at the Memorial Tournament, T6 at the RBC Canadian Open, T24 at the Travelers Championship, and T14 at the Wyndham Championship.

The 35-year-old American finished T61 at the 2023 Sony Open in Hawaii.

Cole was named PGA Tour Rookie Of The Year recently and will look to cap off that accolade with his maiden title in Honolulu this weekend.

Byeong-Hun An

Byeong-Hun An has been in superb form on the PGA Tour in recent outings, placing T3 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T23 at the Open Championship, T2 at the Wyndham Championship, T37 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 43rd and the BMW Championship and 4th at the Sentry last weekend.

Other prominent performances achieved by Byeong-Hun An last season include finishing T21 at the Honda Classic, T6 at the Valero Texas Open, T13 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T14 at the AT&T Byron Nelson, T21 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and T24 at the Memorial Tournament.

The 32-year Korean golfer has placed T12 overall on debut at the Sony Open in 2023.

Byeong-Hun An has had three top-four places in his last six tournaments and is the long-shot value bet in Hawaii.

Verdict

Fitzpatrick has been holding form since his recent victory and has claims for the title at the Waialae Country Club.

Harman has been in excellent touch lately and will fancy his chances to win the title in Hawaii this weekend.

Cole has been ultra-consistent on the PGA Tour and has a chance to emerge as the winner in Honolulu.

Byeong-Hun An has the form to cause an upset victory this weekend.
