Arizona Diamondbacks Form
Arizona come into this series on the back of a defeat, after missing out on a series sweep of San Francisco last night.
The Diamondbacks went into that series having cooled off six their six-game win streak in late August.
Their dip in form began at home to the New York Mets as they sandwiched an 8-5 victory with 8-3 and 3-2 defeats.
Arizona then played host the Los Angeles Dodgers in four-game series, and after losing 10-9 and 8-6, they failed to build on a 14-3 victory as they lost the series finale 14-3.
The Diamondbacks bounced back during the first two games in San Francisco though, following up an 8-7 win with a 6-4 success.
Houston Astros Form
Houston enter this series looking to rebound from a rough series with Cincinnati that saw them lose all three games.
The Astros struggled for form during the second half of August as they lost six times during an eight-game spell between the 22nd and 27th.
That sequence included 3-2 and 5-0 defeats in Philadelphia, but they did win the series finale, 10-0, and that shutout win sparked an improvement.
Houston returned home for a four-game series against Kansas City, and they were able to sweep the Royals thanks to 6-3, 3-2, 5-2 and 7-2 wins.
The Astros failed to build on that however, as they went out on the road and suffered 5-3, 12-5 and 1-0 defeats at the hands of Cincinnati.
Verdict
Houston have been in good form at home and have the advantage at starting pitcher, so we expect the Astros to get back on track here.
