Baltimore entered this series on the back of a defeat that brought an end to a four-game win streak.
The Orioles began the second half of June by winning four times in a five-game spell, only to see their form nose-dive after that.
They suffered 14-11, 5-1 and 8-1 defeats as they were swept in Houston, and then returned home for 3-2 and 10-8 defeats to Cleveland.
Baltimore avoided being swept as they took the final meeting with the Guardians, 4-2, and they followed that up by stringing together three consecutive wins over Texas.
The Orioles beat the Rangers 11-2, 2-1 and 6-5, but missed out on the series sweep as they lost the final game in the series, 11-2.
Seattle Mariners Form
Seattle came into this series on an underwhelming run of form, having lost eight of their last 11 games.
The Mariners’ bad run began when they suffered an 8-0 loss in Cleveland, ending a run of four consecutive victories.
They then lost 6-3 to the Guardians, before travelling to Miami to lose 3-2 and 6-4 either side of a 9-0 shutout win over the Marlins.
Seattle headed to Tampa Bay after that series and were beaten 4-3 and 11-3 by the Rays, but they did avoid being swept as they took the last encounter 5-2.
The Mariners backed that up with a 3-2 home win over Minnesota, only to then lose the next two games against the Twins, 5-1 and 5-3.
Verdict
Seattle have a major edge at starting pitcher with Logan Gilbert getting the nod, so we are backing the Mariners to bounce back.
