Boston entered this series having snapped a three-game losing skid by winning in Minnesota on Sunday.
The Red Sox enjoyed a good run in late April as they rebounded from a 7-1 defeat at home to Chicago with a four-game win streak.
They blew out the Cubs 17-0 in the second meeting, and backed that up with a 5-4 victory in the series finale, before beating San Francisco 4-0 and 6-2.
Boston failed to sweep the Giants as they lost the final meeting 3-1, and they then went out on the road to lose 5-2 and 3-1 in Minnesota.
The Red Sox avoided being swept though, as they took the final meeting with the Twins, winning 9-2.
Atlanta Braves Form
Atlanta entered this series having been swept during last week’s three-game series with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
The Braves went on a red-hot run in the second half of April as they won 10 times in an 11-game spell.
Their form cooled off before the end of the month though, as they lost three of their next four games.
Atlanta lost 4-2 at home to Cleveland, and then failed to follow up a 4-3 win over the Guardians as they were beaten 2-1 and 3-2 in Seattle.
The Braves avoided being swept by the Mariners, winning the final game 5-2, but they had no such luck in Los Angeles as they were beaten 4-3, 11-2 and 5-1 by the Dodgers.
Verdict
Atlanta are stacking up wins at home and Chris Sale has been delivering at the mound this season, so expect the Braves to come away with the win.
