Cleveland go into tonight's game knowing that a third straight defeat will bring an end to their season.
The Guardians kicked off this series with a 7-0 win over Detroit, but that has been followed by a couple of 3-0 defeats that have left them on the brink of elimination.
They booked their place in the postseason by putting together a 92-69 record to win the American League Central.
Cleveland came into the playoffs in underwhelming form though, having lost four of their last six games.
The Guardians dropped back-to-back games in St Louis, and then failed to build on a two-game sweep of Cincinnati as they were swept by Houston in a two-game series.
Detroit Tigers Form
Detroit enter their final home game of this series knowing that a victory will prevent them from having to travel to Cleveland for a second time.
The Tigers began this series with a 7-0 defeat in Cleveland, but they have rebouded with back-to-back 3-0 victories to put themselves within one win of the next round.
It has been a strong response from a team that played four road games in the postseason before finally heading home.
Detroit booked their place in the playoffs with an 86-78 record, finishing third in the American League Central, and dumped out Houston in the Wild Card round.
The Tigers had to go to Texas for that three-game series and they were able to sweep the Astros in two, winning 3-1 and 5-2.
Verdict
It is 'win or bust' for Cleveland so it is no surprise that they are turning to Tanner Bibee here.
Bibee dominated Detroit in the first game of this series, and we expect him to shut down the Tigers offense again as the Guardians take this series back to Cleveland.
