Detroit Tigers Form

Detroit went into the All-Star break on their worst run of the season, having lost four straight games.

The Tigers enjoyed a winning start to July as they beat Washington 11-2, only to then lose the next two meetings with the Nationals, 9-4 and 11-7.

They rebounded on the road though as they travelled to Cleveland to sweep the Guardians with 2-1, 1-0 and 7-2 victories.

Detroit then returned home and took their winning run to five games by beating Tampa Bay 5-1 and 4-2.

The Tigers lost the final meeting though, 7-3, and they failed to bounce back from that as they were swept by Seattle, losing 12-3, 15-7 and 8-4.

Texas Rangers Form

Texas went into the mid-season pause on an inconsistent run of form, having gone 7-5 in July so far.

The Rangers began the month with back-to-back home wins over Baltimore, winning 10-2 and 6-0, before heading to San Diego where they lost 4-1 and 3-2 either side of a 7-4 win.

They then moved on to face the Los Angeles Angels and split that four-game series, twice responding immediately to a defeat in Anaheim.

Texas bounced back from a 6-5 loss to the Angels with a 13-1 victory, and then answered an 11-8 defeat with an 11-4 success.

The Rangers then headed to Houston where they were able to win 7-3 and 5-1 either side of a 5-4 defeat to the Astros.
