Houston Astros Form

Houston went into the All-Star break on a disappointing run of form, having lost five times in a six-game spell.

The Astros made a flying start to July as they went out on the road to beat the Rockies 6-5 and 5-3 in Colorado.

They missed out on the series sweep as they lost the final game 7-6, but they responded in emphatic fashion as they swept the Dodgers in Los Angeles, winning 18-1, 6-4 and 5-1.

Houston’s form collapsed when they returned home though, as they suffered 7-5, 10-6 and 4-2 defeats to Cleveland.

The Astros then lost two of their three meetings with Texas, sandwiching a 5-4 victory with 7-3 and 5-1 losses.

Seattle Mariners Form

Seattle will look to build on the series sweep of Detroit when they return from the All-Star break.

The Mariners began July with a disappointing home series against Kansas City, sandwiching a 3-2 victory with 6-3 and 3-2 defeats.

They rebounded against Pittsburgh, sweeping the Pirates thanks to 6-0, 1-0 and 1-0 victories, only to blow cold when they went back out on the road.

Seattle started a six-game road trip in New York, where they suffered 10-3, 9-6 and 6-5 defeats at the hands of the Yankees.

The Mariners responded to that with a series sweep of their own though, as they moved on to Detroit to beat the Tigers 12-3, 15-7 and 8-4.
