Los Angeles have successfully ousted Cincinnati and Philadelphia on their way to the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers booked their place in the postseason by putting together a 93-69 record to finish top of the NL West standings.
That did not secure them a first-round bye, but they did make light work of the Wild Card round as they swept Cincinnati at home, winning 10-5 and 8-4.
Los Angeles then made a superb start to the Division Series as they won back-to-back games in Philadelphia, 5-3 and 4-3.
The Dodgers failed to complete the sweep as they were beaten 8-2 at home by the Phillies, but they issued an immediate response with a 2-1 victory to wrap up the series in four games.
Milwaukee Brewers Form
Milwaukee advanced to the National League Championship Series by battling past the Chicago Cubs in five games.
The Brewers clinched their place in the playoffs by finishing top of the NL Central, with a 97-65 record earning them a first-round bye.
When they finally kicked off their postseason campaign they made a strong start at home with 9-3 and 7-3 wins over the Cubs.
That gave Milwaukee the chance to clinch on the road in the ‘Windy City’ but they passed up the opportunity as they suffered 4-3 and 6-0 defeats.
However, the Brewers were able to get the job done when they returned home for a winner-takes-all Game 5 showdown, downing the Cubs 3-1.
Verdict
Milwaukee dominated Los Angeles in the regular season, but we still like the Dodgers here.
Their recent road form has been massively improved and Blake Snell has been in lockdown form in recent appearances.
