Philadelphia came into this series on the back of a couple of defeats that has cooled them off in recent days.
The Phillies ended June with a 7-6 victory when they hosted Miami, and they built on that victory as they opened up a run of six straight games on the road.
They first travelled to Chicago and twice knocked off the Cubs at Wrigley Field, recording 6-4 and 5-3 wins.
Philadelphia missed out on the sweep as they lost the series finale 10-2, but they did respond immediately in Atlanta as they downed the Braves 8-6.
The Phillies failed to back up that victory though, losing their next two outings at Truist Park, 5-1 and 6-0.
Verdict
Gavin Stone gets the nod for Los Angeles tonight, and when he has started this season they have tended to win the game.
They make for an appealing underdog in this clash of MLB division leaders.
