San Diego Padres Form
San Diego come into this series having won six of their last eight games, but having gone 2-2 in the last four.
The Padres endured a season-worst losing skid in late April as they tasted defeat in five consecutive games, starting with a 10-9 defeat in Colorado.
They were then swept by Philadelphia, losing 9-3, 5-1 and 8-6, before falling to a 5-2 defeat when they hosted Cincinnati.
San Diego finally stopped the rot with 6-4 and 6-2 wins over the Reds, and backed up those victories with 7-1 and 13-1 victories in Arizona.
The Padres missed out on the series sweep, losing the final meeting 11-4, and then sandwiched a 3-2 defeat at the Chicago Cubs with 6-3 and 3-0 wins in the ‘Windy City’.
Verdict
Los Angeles are on a roll and Tyler Glasnow is in great form, so we like the Dodgers in this series-opening clash.
