Minnesota head to Texas looking to bounce back from a couple of home defeats earlier this week.
The Twins have been in patchy form for much of August and come into this game having gone 6-6 in their last 12 games.
This sequence started in Pittsburgh where they sandwiched a 7-4 defeat to the Pirates with 5-1 and 2-0 wins.
Minnesota were then swept in Milwaukee, losing 7-3 and 8-7, before returning home and winning three of their four meetings with Texas (7-5, 12-2, 2-6, 7-6).
The Twins then won the series opener against Cleveland, 10-6, only to lose the next two meetings, 4-2 and 5-2.
Texas Rangers Form
Texas return home looking to continue some improved form that has seen them win three of their last five games.
The Rangers endured a miserable run of form in the second half of August as they lost eight consecutive games.
That sequence started with a 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, which was followed by 9-8, 6-1 and 6-2 defeats to Milwaukee, and 4-3 and 6-3 losses in Arizona.
Texas then lost 7-5 and 12-2 in Minnesota, before finally snapping their skid with a 6-2 win over the Twins.
The Rangers lost the final meeting 7-6, but rebounded to beat the New York Mets 4-3 and 2-1 on the road, only to lose the last matchup 6-5.
Verdict
Max Scherzer gets the nod for Texas and he has an outstanding record against Minnesota, so we are backing the Rangers to take this one.
