The Celtics wrapped up 2023 with a season-best six-game win streak, only to start 2024 with a 127-123 defeat at Oklahoma City.
They bounced back quickly to beat Utah 126-97 at home, and backed that up with a 118-101 over the Pacers in Indiana.
Boston lost the next meeting with the Pacers, 133-131, but again responded quickly to a defeat as they beat Minnesota 127-120 in overtime.
The Celtics failed to follow that up as they then lost 135-102 in Milwaukee, although they issued an emphatic response over the weekend as they blew out Houston, 145-113.
Toronto Raptors Form
Toronto come into this matchup on a three-game losing skid and having now lost four of the last five.
The Raptors struggled throughout December and finished 2023 with back-to-back defeats, losing 120-118 in Boston and 129-127 at Detroit.
They avoided a third straight loss as they opened 2024 with a 124-121 win against Cleveland, and they were able to back that up with a 116-111 victory in Memphis.
Toronto failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 135-130 in Sacramento, but they did rebound 48 hours later with a 133-118 win at Golden State.
The Raptors have not won since though, losing 132-131 at the Los Angeles Lakers, 126-120 at the LC Clippers and 145-113 in Utah.
Verdict
Boston are the better team in better form, and they have dominated Toronto over the past couple of season, so we are riding with the Celtics here.
