Dallas head back out on the road having surrendered the series lead with a home defeat in Game 4.
The Mavericks, who went 50-32 in the regular season, needed six games to see of the LA Clippers and advance to the second round.
They twice responded to a loss with back-to-back wins, sealing a 4-2 series success with a 123-93 blowout win in LA and a 114-101 victory at home.
Dallas then lost their opening game of this series, losing 117-95 in Oklahoma City, but rebounded with a 119-110 road win and a 105-101 victory at home.
However, the Mavericks failed to open up a two-game lead in Game 4, as they were beaten 100-96 at home.

Oklahoma City head back home having managed to tie up the series with a Game 4 win on the road.
The Thunder, who won the Western Conference with a 57-25 record, eased through the first round of the postseason by sweeping New Orleans in four games.
They held the Pelicans to under 100 points in all four meetings, winning 94-92 and 124-92 at home, and 106-85 and 97-89 on the road.
Oklahoma City made a successful start to this series, beating Dallas 117-95 at home, only to drop the second encounter 119-110.
The Thunder then lost 119-110 in their first road game of the series, but rallied in Game 4 as they earned a 100-96 victory in Dallas.

It is starting to feel like these two teams will need seven games to settle this.
