The Rockets hit a hot streak at the start of November as a win against Charlotte sparked six-game win streak that included a 107-104 upset of defending champions Denver.
All of those wins came at home though, and when they went back out on the road their form nose-dived.
Houston were beaten 106-100 by the LA Clippers and 105-104 at the Los Angeles Lakers, before heading to the Bay Area for a 121-116 defeat to Golden State.
The Rockets rebounded when they returned though, as they followed up a 111-91 win over Memphis with another upset of Denver, 105-86.
Dallas Mavericks Form
Dallas come into this game on a rough run of form, having lost four of the last six to drop to 10-6.
The Mavericks made a strong start to the season as they won eight of their first 10 games of the campaign.
Their form has cooled over the past couple of weeks though, with their 2-4 run starting with a 131-110 defeat at New Orleans.
Dallas responded with a 130-117 win in Washington, only to then lose 132-125 in Milwaukee and 129-113 at home to Sacramento.
The Mavericks avoided a third straight defeat as they won 104-101 at the Los Angeles Lakers, but they failed to back that up as they then lost 107-88 to the LA Clippers.
Verdict
Dallas are the better team on paper, but Houston have been stacking up covers and upset wins, so give us the Rockets and the points.
