Detroit are tipped to cover as they win this battle of playoff-chasing teams.

The Pistons have been stacking up wins at home this season, while the Rockets have lost a bunch of games on the road recently and have had issues covering the spread.

Houston arrive in the ‘Motor City’ having rallied from a rough run start to 2026, winning four of their last six games.

The Rockets entered the year on a three-game win streak and won their first outing of this calendar year to make it four-in-a-row, but they stumbled after that.

Their run was ended by a 110-014 loss in Dallas, and they then failed to back up a 100-97 home win against Phoenix as they lost 103-102 and 111-105 in Portland, and 111-98 at Sacramento.

Houston snapped their skid with a 119-113 success at home to Chicago, before responding to a 111-91 loss to Oklahoma City with three straight victories.

The Rockets beat Minnesota 110-105, New Orleans 119-110 and San Antonio 111-106, only to see their run end with a 129-122 defeat in Philadelphia last night.

Detroit Pistons Form

Detroit enter this matchup on a strong run of form, having won seven of their last eight games and each of the last four.

The Pistons opened 2026 with a 118-112 defeat at home to Miami, but responded with a three-game surge that started with a 114-110 success in Cleveland.

They backed that up at home as they beat New York 121-90 and Chicago 108-93, only to see that win sequence end with a 98-92 defeat to the LA Clippers.

Detroit have not lost since though, sparking this four-game run with a 108-105 victory at home to Phoenix.

The Pistons then blew out Indiana, 121-78, and edged Boston, 104-103, before heading out on the road to down the Pelicans in New Orleans, 112-104.

Verdict

HOU Rockets @ DET Pistons

Both teams are firmly on course for the playoffs, but it is Detroit who are in better form.

The Pistons have plenty of momentum, and they can take advantage of Houston’s apparent ‘travel sickness’ in this one.
