The Golden Gophers kicked off the season with a couple of non-conference wins, beating Buffalo 23-10 and Northwestern State 66-0 before finally losing at California, 27-14.
They rebounded to win their Big Ten opener against Rutgers, 31-28, and then responded to a 42-3 blowout loss to Ohio State with a 27-20 victory over Purdue.
Minnesota backed that up with a 24-6 win over ranked Nebraska, only to then suffer a 41-3 defeat when they visited Iowa.
The Golden Gophers bounced back before their bye week though, as they returned home to down Michigan State 23-20.
Oregon Form
Oregon return home riding a three-game win streak that has improved their record to 8-1 and kept them on course for a possible playoff place.
The Ducks opened the season with a 59-13 demolition of Montana State, and then blew out Oklahoma State 69-3 before starting their Big Ten schedule with a 31-14 victory at Northwestern.
They backed that up with a 41-7 blowout of Oregon State, before returning to conference action with a 30-24 upset of number three Penn State.
Oregon failed to back that up as they suffered a surprise 30-20 defeat at home to Indiana, but they have not lost since.
The Ducks rallied with a 56-10 victory at Rutgers, and followed it up by beating Wisconsin 21-7 at home and Iowa 18-16 on the road.
Verdict
Oregon’s last couple of wins have not been by huge margins, but they can make a statement here.
Minnesota have suffered three big blowout defeats on the road this season, and another could be on the cards here.
