Clemson head to Louisville having ended a losing sequence to improve their overall record to 4-5.
The Tigers came into the season with high hopes, but suffered a 17-10 defeat when they hosted LSU on opening weekend.
They rebounded a week later with a 27-16 win over Troy, only to then lose their first two ACC matchups, 24-21 at Georgia Tech and 34-21 at home to Syracuse.
Clemson rallied on the road as they blew out North Carolina 38-10 and Boston College 41-10, but they failed to maintain that form as they returned home to lose 35-24 to SMU and 46-45 to Duke.
The Tigers have avoided a third consecutive defeat though, as they downed Florida State last weekend, 24-10.
Louisville Form
Louisville enter this matchup on the back of a loss, but having won seven of their nine games so far this season.
The Cardinal opened up the season with three consecutive non-conference wins, beating Eastern Kentucky 51-17, James Madison 28-14 and Bowling Green 40-17.
They then kicked off their ACC schedule with a 34-27 victory at Pitt, only to drop their second conference outing at home to Virginia, 30-27.
Louisville issued a spectacular response in the form of a 24-21 upset of Miami of the road, and they backed that up with a 38-24 win over Boston College and a 28-16 success at Virginia Tech.
The Cardinal failed to make it three-in-a-row though, seeing the conference championship hopes suffer a big setback with the 29-26 overtime loss to California.
Verdict
Louisville’s ACC hopes took a hit last time out, but unlike Clemson their form overall this season has been good.
The Tigers, on the other hand, have massively underwhelmed and the days may be numbered for Dabo Swinney, so we are backing the Cardinal to rebound under the lights.
