The Volunteers kicked things off at home to Chattanooga last weekend, and stormed to a 69-3 victory as they piled up 718 yards of total offense.

It was a strong start for a team who are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2023 campaign that saw them stack up four losses.

Tennessee lost all three of their regular season games against ranked teams, and dropped four SEC games to miss out on the conference championship game.

The Volunteers did wrap up the season on a positive note though, shutting out ranked Iowa in the Citrus Bowl, 35-0.

NC State Form

NC State enter this matchup looking to back up a season-opening win with an upset victory over ranked opposition.

The Wolfpack kicked things off at home last weekend, running out 38-21 winners when they entertained Western Carolina.

They will now aim to follow that up and do something they failed to do last season, and that is beat a ranked team.

NC State lost to Notre Dame and Duke as they went 9-3 in the regular season and missed out on the ACC Championship Game.

The Wolfpack ended the season on a losing note too, falling to a 28-19 defeat when they, as the ranked team, faced Kansas State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

Tennessee are facing much tougher opposition than last weekend, but we are still all over the Vols.

They were dominant in that Week 1 victory and are likely to have too much for an NC State who failed to trouble ranked teams in 2023.
