Buffalo head to Denver for the Divisional Round in strong form, having won six of their previous seven games and each of the last four on the road.
The Bills made a lightning fast start to the season as they reeled off four consecutive wins, only to then cool off with back-to-back defeats before the bye week.
They responded with a couple of victories after their return to action, only to then lose two of their next three games to leave they playing catch-up in the race to win the AFC East.
Buffalo rallied with a 26-7 win at Pittsburgh at the end of November, and then followed up a 39-34 victory at home to Cincinnati by winning back-to-back road games, beating New England 35-31 and Cleveland 23-20.
The Bills’ chances of winning the division were ended in Week 17 though, as they were beaten 13-12 at home by Philadelphia.
They bounced back in the regular season finale, blowing out the New York Jets 35-8, and then backed that up in the Wild Card round as they snatched a 27-24 win in Jacksonville.
Denver Broncos Form
Denver return to action on a tremendous run of form, having won 13 of their last 14 games to secure the number one seed in the AFC and a Wild Card bye.
The Broncos failed to build on an opening day victory as they dropped back-to-back games on the road, but they have been almost unstoppable ever since.
They went into the bye week on an eight-game win streak that saw them beat both of last season’s Super Bowl teams, Philadelphia 21-17 on the road and Kansas City 22-19 at home, and when they returned to action that win streak continued.
Denver won 27-26 in overtime in Washington before heading to Las Vegas to beat the Raiders 24-17, and they then made it 11-in-a-row with a 34-26 victory at home to Green Bay.
The Broncos’ streak was finally ended by a 34-20 loss to Jacksonville, but they responded over the final two games to wrap up the one seed.
They ran out 20-13 winners in Kansas City, before closing out the regular season with a 19-3 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Verdict
Buffalo found some form over the final few weeks of the season, and of course they have Josh Allen at the controls.
However, Denver’s form over the course of the season simply cannot be ignored, and neither can the fact that they have the Mile High home advantage for this one.
