The Cowboys are rolling after knocking off last season’s Super Bowl teams, while the Lions are on an inconsistent run and just lost one of their biggest weapons in Amon-Ra St Brown.

Dallas have given their playoff chances a huge shot in the arm over the past few weeks, winning three straight games to improve to 6-5-1.
The Cowboys opened the season by losing two of their first three games, sandwiching a 40-37 overtime win at home to the New York Giants with road defeats to Philadelphia, 24-20, and Chicago, 31-14.
They then tied 40-40 at home to Green Bay, and despite ending their winless ways with a 37-22 victory at the New York Jets, they struggled for consistency over the next few weeks.
Dallas responded to a 30-27 loss at Carolina with a 44-22 win over Washington, only to then lose 44-24 at Denver and 27-17 at home to Arizona.
The Cowboys have kick-started their campaign since then though, backing up the 33-16 win at Las Vegas with victories over last season’s Super Bowl teams, beating Philadelphia 24-21 and Kansas City 31-28.
Detroit Lions Form
Detroit enter this matchup in need of a victory, having lost three of their previous six games to lose ground in the NFC North.
The Lions dropped their season opener at Green Bay, 27-13, but responded with a 52-21 demolition of Chicago that sparked a four-game tear.
They went on to beat Baltimore 38-30 on the road, Cleveland 34-10 at home and Cincinnati 37-24 on the road, before falling to a 30-27 defeat at Kansas City.
Detroit rebounded with a 24-9 victory against Tampa Bay, only to then suffer a 27-24 defeat when they hosted division rivals Minnesota.
The Lions bounced back with a 44-22 win at Washington, but since then they have sandwiched a 34-27 overtime victory over the New York Giants with defeats to Philadelphia, 16-9, and Green Bay, 31-24.
Verdict
Now is not the time to write off Detroit, but Dallas are emerging as one of the NFL’s most dangerous teams.
