Dallas enter the 2025 season looking to rebound from a disappointing 2024 campaign that saw them miss out on the playoffs.
The Cowboys sat at 3-7 in the middle of November, but rallied to win four times in a five-game spell to maintain their faint playoff hopes.
That run proved to be in vain though, as they were ultimately eliminated from playoff contention despite a Week 16 win over Tampa Bay.
Dallas then lost their final two games of the regular season, 41-7 at Philadelphia and 23-19 at home to Washington, resulting in a 7-10 record.
The Cowboys responded to that underwhelming year by firing head coach Mike McCarthy, replacing him with offensive co-ordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

The Eagles went into the 2024 campaign looking to erase the sour taste from how the 2023 season concluded, and they did just that.
The capture of Saquon Barkley in free agency paid off in spectacular fashion, as he played a starring role in the team’s 14-3 run in the regular season.
Philadelphia missed out on the number one seeding despite that record, but they played all three playoff games at home and made the most of it as they beat Green Bay 22-10, the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 and Washington 44-23.
The Eagles then completed their quest for Super Bowl glory by dominating Kansas City in a 40-22 victory.
Verdict
Ignore any overhyping of Dallas, because Philadelphia are simply the better team.
They are back with a large chunk of the roster that went all the way in 2024, and that consistency can be telling as the Eagles get off to a winning start.
