Kansas City head to New York in need of a victory, having opened the season with back-to-back defeats.
The Chiefs saw their quest for a historic three-peat end in disappointment as they were beaten by Philadelphia in last season’s Super Bowl, and they have so far struggled to rebound from that.
They kicked off the campaign with a trip to Brazil to face the Los Angeles Chargers, and suffered a 27-21 defeat at their hands of their division rivals.
Kansas City’s tough start then continued in their home opener as they took on Philadelphia in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.
The Chiefs again fell to defeat against the Eagles, with a 20-17 loss leaving them winless heading into Week 3.
New York Giants Form
New York enter their home opener having kicked off the 2025 season with back-to-back defeats to division rivals.
The Giants stood by head coach Brian Daboll despite a disappointing 2024 campaign, but they did make one major change in the offseason.
They brought in veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, but the former Seattle star is yet to lead the team to a victory.
New York began the campaign with a couple of road games against NFC East opposition, with the first of those ending in a 21-6 defeat to Washington.
The Giants offense produced a better showing in their second outing, but it was not enough as they lost 40-37 in overtime to Dallas last weekend.
Verdict
Kansas City definitely have some issues right now, but this is an ideal ‘get-right’ game for them.
New York’s defense just got gashed and the offense is unlikely to experience the same amount of success that they enjoyed against Dallas.
