Miami head to Houston on a decent run of form, having won four of their last five games to stay in the playoff race at 6-7.
The Dolphins won their season opener, but found themselves behind the 8-Ball when they then lost six of their next seven games.
That rough run included two three-game losing skids, with the second of those being ended by a 23-15 victory at the Los Angeles Rams.
Miami then backed that up at home as they beat Las Vegas 34-19 and New England 34-15 to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Dolphins failed to make it four-in-a-row as they lost 30-17 in Green Bay, but they did rebound immediately as the beat the New York Jets in overtime, 32-26.
Houston Texans Form
Houston enter this matchup on the back of a win, but having not strung together wins since the first half of October.
The Texans raced out of the blocks with five wins in their first six games, but they have struggled for consistency since then.
They responded to a 24-22 defeat in Green Bay with a 23-20 win at home to Indianapolis, but they failed to build on that as they then lost 21-13 to the New York Jets and 26-23 to Detroit.
Houston avoided a third straight loss as they won the battle of Texas, downing Dallas 34-10 on the road, only to then lose 32-27 when they hosted Tennessee.
The Texans again responded quickly to a loss though, beating Jacksonville 23-20 on the road.
Verdict
Both teams have failed to live up to pre-season hype, but it is Miami who are threatening to finish the regular season strong.
They have won four of the last five and have a passing game that can take advantage of Houston’s weakness in the secondary, so we are taking the Dolphins in the points.
