The Bears may finally have a legit offense following the arrival of Ben Johnson and the rebuilding of the offensive line.
This could be Caleb Williams’ chance to shine under the bright lights, while JJ McCarthy works through a few teething problems in what is essentially a rookie start for him.

Minnesota enter the new season looking to challenge for the NFC North title and make another trip to the playoffs.
The Vikings raced out of the blocks a year ago as they won five straight games, only to cool off with back-to-back defeats in October.
They rebounded in emphatic fashion though, as they reeled off nine consecutive victories to secure a trip to the playoffs.
Minnesota were ‘one and done’ in the postseason however, as they were beaten 27-9 by the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round.
The Vikings have since moved on from starting quarterback Sam Darnold, with 2024 draft pick JJ McCarthy making a return from the injury that kept him out for all of last season.

Chicago go into the 2025 campaign looking to make a run to the playoffs and put the Matt Eberflus era firmly behind them.
The Bears notched just five wins during the 2024 season as a string of coaching blunders led to Eberflus becoming the first in-season firing in franchise history.
Things did not get much better following his departure, as their losing skid reached 10 games under the leadership of interim coach Thomas Brown.
Chicago did at least end the season on a high though, as Caleb Williams led them on a last-gasp game-winning drive to beat Green Bay 24-22 at Lambeau Field.
The Bears then wasted little time in appointing the much-coveted Ben Johnson as the new head coach, with the announcement coming almost immediately after Detroit bowed out of the playoffs.
Verdict
Caleb Williams showed flashes during a difficult rookie season, and he now gets to work with an elite offensive play-caller and play behind a hugely revamped offensive line.
There will be some teething problems, but the same can be said for a Vikings team with an inexperienced QB making his NFL debut, so we lean towards the Bears in this one.
