The Avalanche, who went 50-25-7 in the regular season, got off to a rough start in the postseason as they lost 7-6 in Winnipeg in Game 1.
They issued an emphatic response though, as they took the second game 5-2 to knot up the series before heading home.
Colorado then took control of the series on the home ice, as they downed the Jets 6-2 and 5-1 to give themselves the chance to clinch on the road.
The Avalanche did just that, running out 6-3 winners in Winnipeg to complete a 4-1 series success over the Jets.

Dallas enter this second-round matchup having gone the distance in a thrilling seven-game series with Vegas.
The Stars, who topped the Central Division with a 52-21-9 record, made a nightmare start to the playoffs as they lost back-to-back home games, 4-3 and 3-1.
They rebounded on the road though and were able to level up the series by winning 3-2 in overtime and 4-2 in regulation.
Dallas then returned home to record a 3-2 victory over the Golden Knights, but they failed to clinch on the road as they lost 2-0 in Game 6.
That set up a winner-takes-all clash in Dallas on Sunday, and the Stars delighted the home crowd with a 2-1 win over Vegas.
Verdict
Colorado boast an excellent recent record against Dallas that includes a bunch of wins in the ‘Big D’.
The Avalanche also have a massive rest advantage, so they make for an appealing underdog in Game 1.
