Colorado head back out on the road looking to build on Tuesday’s win that snapped a four-game skid and improved their record to 6-1-4.
The Avalanche made a strong start to the season as they won five of their first six games on the schedule.
They beat Los Angeles 4-1 and Utah 2-1, before rebounding from a shootout loss to Dallas by beating Buffalo 3-1 and Columbus 4-1 on the road, and Boston 4-1 at home.
Colorado went cold after that though, as they followed up a 4-3 overtime loss in Utah with a shootout defeat at home to Carolina, and road defeats to Boston, 3-2, and New Jersey, 4-3 in overtime.
The Avalanche quickly avenged that loss to the Devils though, as they returned home to beat New Jersey 8-4.
Vegas Golden Knights Form
Vegas returned home on the back of a victory that took their record to 6-1-3 through the first 10 games.
The Golden Knights opened with a shootout loss at home to San Jose, and then failed to back up a 4-3 overtime win in San Jose as they lost 2-1 in overtime at Seattle.
They found some form after that though, as a 4-2 victory in Calgary proved to be the start of a four-game winning run.
Vegas returned home to beat Boston 6-5, Calgary 6-1 and Carolina 4-1, only to see that streak when they lost 3-0 at Florida.
The Golden Knights then fell 2-1 in overtime in Tampa Bay, before returning to winning ways on Tuesday as they downed the Hurricanes in Carolina, 6-3.
Verdict
Vegas return home on the back of a victory, and they have won their last few games on the home ice.
Colorado, on the other hand, have lost their last three road games and four of their last five overall, so we are backing the Golden Knights to get the job done.
