Dallas head to Los Angeles looking to issue an immediate response to Tuesday night’s defeat in Anaheim.
The Stars went into that match having rebounded from a 2-1 defeat to Carolina with a five-game win streak.
They kick-started that run with a 4-3 home win over Vegas, which they followed up with road victories at St Louis, 2-0, and Vegas, 4-3 in overtime.
Dallas returned home to win the next two, beating both Vancouver and Columbus 5-3, but they failed to make it six-in-a-row in their first outing of this week.
The Stars began a six-game roadtrip in Anaheim and suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Ducks.
Los Angeles Kings Form
Los Angeles go into this matchup looking to win three straight games for the first time since early January.
The Kings endured a disappointing run during the second half of the month, as they lost five times in a seven-game spell.
They lost 4-2 in Seattle and 5-1 at home to Pittsburgh, before failing to build on a 2-1 win over Florida as they then lost four in-a-row on the road.
Los Angeles were beaten 3-2 in overtime in Columbus, 5-2 at Detroit, 3-0 in Florida and 3-0 at Tampa Bay.
The Kings stopped the rot over the weekend though, winning 4-2 in Carolina, and they then backed that up with a 6-3 victory over Montreal on Wednesday night.
Verdict
Dallas have plenty of momentum despite the loss in Anaheim and they have repeatedly got the better of Los Angeles in recent seasons.
The Kings are hardly in good recent form too, so we like the Stars as a slight underdog in this one.
