Utah are tipped to continue their good form at Dallas’ expense.
There is no doubting that the Stars are the better team, but they have been on a rough run since just before Christmas, while the Mammoth have been edging up the standings.

Dallas head to Utah on a disappointing run of form, having now lost eight of their previous 10 games.
The Stars enjoyed a four-game win streak prior to Christmas, but failed to rebound quickly after that run was ended by a 4-3 overtime loss in Detroit.
They returned home for a 4-3 shootout defeat to Chicago and a 4-1 loss to Buffalo, before heading to the ‘Windy City’ for another 4-3 defeat to the Blackhawks.
Dallas’ skid reached six games as they lost 4-3 in overtime at home to Montreal and 6-3 on the road in Carolina, before they finally stopped the rot with a 4-1 success in Washington.
That did not spark a turnaround for the Stars though, as they have since sandwiched a 3-1 win in Los Angeles with road defeats to San Jose, 5-4 in overtime, and Anaheim, 3-1.
Utah Mammoth Form
Utah enter this matchup on one of their best runs for a while, having now won five of their last seven games.
The Mammoth ended 2025 with back-to-back home defeats, but opened 2026 in positive fashion as they won 7-2 at the New York Islanders.
They then bounced back from a 4-1 defeat in New Jersey with a 3-2 overtime success at the New York Rangers, and that proved to be the start of a three-game run.
Utah returned home to take down Ottawa 3-1, before beating St Louis 4-2 to make it three-in-a-row – their best run since late October.
The Mammoth failed to make it four straight victories as they lost 3-2 in overtime to Columbus, but they did deliver an immediate response as they blew out Toronto, 6-1.
Verdict
Dallas sit higher in the standings and have the stronger roster, but their recent form is a big red flag heading into this one.
Utah have momentum on their side and home advantage, so give us the Mammoth in this one.
