They then responded to a 4-3 loss in Montreal with a 4-3 overtime victory at home to Detroit, only to then lose 4-3 in overtime themselves when they hosted Florida.
Minnesota have not lost since though, sparking this five-game streak at home as they beat Chicago 4-3 and Calgary 4-1.
The Wild then sandwiched a 4-3 overtime win at home to Edmonton with road successes against Edmonton, 7-3, and Nashville, 6-5 in overtime.
Utah Mammoth Form
Utah enter this matchup on a rollercoaster run of form, having lost four of their previous seven games.
The Mammoth enjoyed a five-game win streak in the second half of January, but were unable to maintain that momentum.
That run was ended by a 2-0 loss at Tampa Bay, and they then failed to build on a 4-3 success at Florida as they lost 5-4 in Carolina and 3-2 at home to Dallas.
Utah avoided a third straight loss as they beat Vancouver 6-2 at home, and they were able to back that up with a 4-1 victory over Detroit.
A third consecutive win proved to be beyond them though, as they lost 4-2 to Colorado last time out.
Verdict
Minnesota’s record against Utah makes for ugly reading, but their recent form makes them a tempting underdog.
