They dropped the second meeting 5-2, but took control of the series when they went out on the road to beat the Kings 6-1 and 1-0.
Edmonton then returned home to wrap up the series at the first attempt, fighting back from 2-1 down to beat Los Angeles 4-3.
That set up this second-round series with Vancouver, and the Oilers find themselves trailing after one game, having been beaten 5-4 in Game 1.

Vancouver continue to boast a perfect record against Edmonton this season, having opened this series with a victory.
The Canucks won the Pacific Division with a 50-23-9 record, but made hard work of their first round series with Nashville, going six games with the Predators.
They opened the series with a 4-2 win at home, and then responded to a 4-1 defeat by heading out on the road to win 2-1 in regulation and 4-3 in overtime.
Vancouver passed up on the chance to clinch at home, losing 2-1, but they got the job done on the road as they sealed a 4-2 series win with a 1-0 victory.
The Canucks then backed up that win by drawing first blood in this series with Edmonton, beating the Oilers 5-4.
Verdict
The bookies like Edmonton once again, but we cannot ignore Vancouver's track record.
