Nashville head to Chicago on the back of a win, but having lost eight of their previous 10 games to slip to 7-12-4.
The Predators’ rough run began with a couple of overtime defeats as they lost 5-4 at home to Vancouver and 3-2 on the road at Minnesota.
They then lost 3-1 to Philadelphia and 5-4 to Dallas at home, before heading to New York for a 6-3 defeat to the Rangers.
Nashville finally stopped the rot in Sweden as they beat Pittsburgh 2-1 in overtime, but they lost the return meeting 4-0 and then returned home to lose 3-0 to Colorado and 8-3 to Florida.
The Predators avoided a fourth straight defeat however, as they took down the Red Wings in Detroit, 6-3.
Chicago Blackhawks Form
Chicago enter this matchup having cooled off in recent days, losing their previous four games to fall to 10-8-5.
The Predators were on a roll in the first half of November as they won three straight on the road, beating Vancouver 5-2, Calgary 4-0 and Detroit 5-1.
They then rebounded from a 4-3 overtime defeat at home to New Jersey with a 3-2 success against Toronto and a 5-2 victory over Calgary.
Chicago have not lost since though, beginning this four-game slide with a controversial 3-2 home defeat to Seattle.
The Blackhawks were then blown out in Buffalo, losing 9-3, before returning home to fall 1-0 to Colorado and 4-3 in overtime to Minnesota.
Verdict
Both teams are in poor form, but over the first couple of months it has been Chicago that has offered more reasons for positivity.
Nashville do not travel well either, so we are backing the Blackhawks to take advantage of that ‘travel sickness’.
