The Predators began this good run with a three-game win streak before Christmas Day, which was then ended by a 3-2 defeat at St Louis on December 27.
They rebounded with road wins at Utah, 4-3, and Vegas, 4-2, before answering a 4-1 defeat in Seattle with a 4-3 success when they visited Calgary.
Nashville then wrapped up that road trip with a 6-2 loss in Edmonton, before failing to build on a 2-1 win at home to the New York Islanders as they lost 3-0 to Chicago.
The Predators wrapped up that home stand with a couple of wins though, beating Washington 3-2 and Edmonton 4-3 in overtime.
Colorado Avalanche Form
Colorado enter this matchup with the best record in hockey, but having cooled off with three defeats in their last five games.
The Avalanche have put together a couple of double-digit win streaks during the regular season, with one of them beginning in early December.
They ended 2025 riding a nine-game winning run, and made it 10-in-a-row in their first outing of 2026 as they downed Carolina on the road, 5-3.
Colorado’s run was finally ended by a 2-1 defeat at Florida, before they moved on to Tampa for a 4-2 loss to the Lightning.
The Avalanche responded at home as they beat Ottawa 8-2 and Columbus 4-0, but they failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 4-3 in overtime to Toronto last time out.

Colorado’s form has dipped in recent days, but we are not about to start overlooking them.
