The Rangers endured a four-game losing skid in the second half of November, but rallied with a 3-2 win at home to St Louis.
They backed that up on the road as the beat Carolina 4-2 and Boston 6-2, only to see their run end when they returned home and lost 4-1 to Tampa Bay.
New York responded with a 3-2 overtime upset of Dallas, and then made it back-to-back victories as they beat Ottawa 4-2 on the road.
The Rangers have not won since though, losing to 3-2 in overtime to both Colorado and Vegas.
Chicago Blackhawks Form
Chicago enter this matchup having lost back-to-back games and eight of their previous 10 outings.
The Blackhawks’ rough run began when they suffered a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Seattle.
That proved to be the start of a five-game skid as they lost 9-3 at Buffalo, 1-0 to Colorado, 4-3 in overtime to Minnesota and 4-3to Nashville.
Chicago finally stopped the rot with a 5-3 win over Anaheim, only to then suffer a 4-3 shootout defeat in Vegas.
The Blackhawks responded with a 2-1 victory in Los Angeles, but they failed to back that up as they lost the rematch 6-0, and then fell to a 7-1 defeat when they visited Anaheim.
Verdict
New York have dropped a couple of recent games, but they have had Chicago’s number over the past few years and they have travelled well this season.
The Blackhawks are in pretty miserable form too, so give us the Rangers in this one.
