Poland enter this matchup still seeking their first win of the 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship.
The Poles were far from disgraced in their tournament opener as they pushed Latvia all the way before eventually losing 5-4 in overtime.
That became back-to-back defeats in their second outing as they were convincingly beaten by top contenders Sweden, 5-1.
Poland then lost 4-2 to France, before suffering a 4-0 shutout loss to Slovakia that has left them bottom of Group B and on the brink of elimination.

The Americans, who exited at the semi-final stage year ago, entered the tournament as a leading contender, but got off to a rough start.

The USA failed to make it back-to-back wins though, fighting back from three goals down against Slovakia, only to then lose 5-4 in overtime.
