St Louis Blues Form
St Louis head to Colorado for the final game of this road trip on the back of a loss that dropped them to 3-3-1.
The Blues opened the season with a shootout loss to Dallas, but bounced back in their home opener by beating Seattle via a shootout.
They failed to back that up as they then lost 6-2 to Arizona, only to then beat Pittsburgh 4-2 before starting this road trip.
Again St Louis failed to build on a win, losing 4-2 in Winnipeg, but once again they avoided back-to-back defeats with a 3-0 victory in Calgary.
The Blues’ inconsistency continued last Friday though, as they were shutout in a 5-0 defeat in Vancouver.
Colorado Avalanche Form
Colorado come into this game looking to bounce back after seeing a couple of defeats halt a six-game streak.
The Avalanche opened on the road and reeled off three consecutive victories, starting with a 5-2 win in Los Angeles.
They then won a shootout at San Jose and beat Seattle 4-1, before heading home to win their first game of the season at Ball Arena, beating Chicago 4-0.
Colorado’s streak hit six games as they then beat Carolina 6-4 and won 7-4 at the New York Islanders, but their offense stalled in the next two games, resulting in losses.
The Avalanche travelled to Pittsburgh and lost 4-0 to the Penguins, before heading to Buffalo and losing by the same score against the Sabres.
Verdict
Colorado have made the stronger start despite a couple of road defeats, and they are back at home where they do their best work.
