They opened the tournament with a 1-0 win over eventual finalists Germany, while their most notable victory was a 2-1 success against Scandinavian rivals Finland.
Sweden’s participation was ended in the last eight though, as they were beaten 3-1 by a Latvia team that finished fourth.
Since exiting the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship, the Swedes have won 10 of their 16 games.

The USA head back to the Ice Hockey World Championship looking to put last year’s disappointment behind them.
The Americans marched through the group stage of the competition, topping the standings in Group A with an unbeaten record.
They opened the tournament in sensational fashion by thrashing Finland 4-1, and they wrapped up the group stage with a 4-3 overtime win over Sweden.
The USA then downed the Czech Republic 3-0 in the quarter-finals, but a 4-3 overtime defeat to Germany in the semi-finals ended their quest and they ultimately finished fourth.
The Americans do go into the 2024 tournament in confident mood though, having beaten Slovakia 6-2 in a friendly earlier this week.

The bookies consider this game a toss-up, and we are leaning towards the Swedes.
Sweden have played more games in preparation for the World Championship, so there are likely to be the more well-oiled machine heading into this tournament opener.
