2026 World Cup Golden Glove: Odds, Predictions and Betting Tips
Another popular betting market for the FIFA World Cup is the Golden Glove award, which will go to the tournament's best goalkeeper.
Clean sheets matter, but this is not purely a numbers award. FIFA's Technical Study Group also considers big saves, penalty shootout heroics and overall influence on their team's performance.
Goalkeepers from nations expected to reach the latter stages usually dominate this market. Indeed, six of eight previous winners came from the winning nation.
As such, Argentine no. 1 Emi Martinez, Spains Unai Simon and French shot-stopper Mike Maignan are among the early betting favourites to win the award this summer.
Today, we assess the favourites and who offers the most value to win the 2026 World Cup Golden Glove award.

Odds correct as of May 2026.
Emiliano Martinez (Argentina) - 5.0 - Favourite
Emiliano Martinez won the Golden Glove in 2022 and heads into this summer's finals as the favourite to claim the award again in 2026.
The Argentina goalkeeper has already shown he can deliver in the biggest tournament moments. His unforgettable last-minute save in the final in Qatar underlined his importance to the Albiceleste, and the 33-year-old is once again expected to play a decisive role in Argentina's bid to retain the World Cup.
With the reigning champions likely to challenge deep into the tournament, Martinez looks a strong contender to become the first goalkeeper to retain the Golden Glove award.
Temperament remains the main concern. The eccentric shot-stopper thrives on chaos and pressure, but disciplinary issues or unnecessary controversy could count against him, particularly in what are expected to be demanding weather conditions across North America.
Unai Simon (Spain) - 5.5
Unai Simon might not be the most glamorous name in the race to win the Golden Glove, but the underrated Spaniard could prove a solid betting option.
The 28-year-old has firmly established himself as Spain's number one, and with 57 caps since making his debut in 2020, is expected to edge out David Raya in the battle for the starting spot this summer.
Spain look well placed to emerge as Europe's strongest contenders in 2026, and Simon is likely to prove a key figure as La Roja attempt to emulate their World Cup triumph of 2010.
Alisson Becker (Brazil) - 6.0
Liverpool's Alisson Becker is the bookies' pre-tournament third favourite for the Golden Glove, priced up at 8.0 odds to claim the individual award in July.
While perhaps not the side of years gone by, Brazil are expected to go deep into the tournament, and that gives their number one a strong chance of being in the running.
The Liverpool goalkeeper has plenty of international experience, and with Brazil likely to go relatively deep, Allison could prove a solid bet for the Golden Glove. An ability to make spectacular saves and Brazil's likely defensive vulnerabilities could give the 33-year-old plenty of opportunity to make his case.
Still, with the Brazilians only rated fifth favourites to win the competition, Alison is perhaps not the best value pick on offer this summer.
Mike Maignan (France) - 7.0
AC Milan shot-stopper Mike Maignan is another strong contender to claim the Golden Glove this summer.
The 30-year-old, with 38 international caps, is set to start for a France side widely expected to go deep into the tournament. Composed under pressure and capable of producing eye-catching saves, Maignan has every chance of being in the mix come July.
If France replicates the form shown in recent competitions, the under-rated Maignan, priced up at 7.0, should be among those challenging for the award.
Best of the Rest
Jordan Pickford has been one of England's most reliable performers in major tournaments, and the Everton goalkeeper offers solid value at 8.0.
The Three Lions cruised through qualification and are among the pre-tournament favourites for World Cup glory. Pickford is a guaranteed starter, and with 82 caps to his name, has the experience to prove a key figure in Thomas Tuchel's side.
Portuguese shot-stopper Diogo Costa looks like another strong option, priced at 11.0 odds to claim the goalkeeper's top award.
Portugal appear dangerous dark horses this summer, and with Costa impressing throughout their qualification campaign, the Porto captain looks a tempting outsider to challenge for the Golden Glove.

How is the Golden Glove decided?
The Golden Glove is awarded to the best goalkeeper at the World Cup.FIFA's Technical Study Group makes the final decision on who wins the award. Clean sheets are important, but they are not the only factor.
Key factors include:
- Clean sheets
- Quality of saves
- Knockout-stage performances
- Penalty shootout saves
- Command of the penalty area
- Overall contribution to team success
This means a goalkeeper does not necessarily need to keep the most clean sheets to win the award. Emiliano Martinez claimed the Golden Glove in 2022 despite recording only three clean sheets, with his penalty shootout heroics and a series of crucial match-winning saves proving decisive in the final voting.
